Content: Osmanlılarda muâyede veya bayram alayı denilen bayram merasimi arefe günü öğle namazından itibaren başlar, öğle vaktinden ikindiye kadar merasim hazırlıkları sürerdi. İkindi namazından sonra sarayın ikinci avlusunda bir Fatiha ile merasime başlanırdı. Sonra dîvân çavuşlarından olan duâcı çavuş duâ eder ve orada bulunanlar âmîn derlerdi. En sonunda yine Fatiha sûresi okunarak bu arefe merasimi nihayet bulurdu. Yaptığı duâ münâsebetiyle duâcı çavuşa bir atıyye (hediye) verilirdi. Bu esnada sarayın Enderûn kısmında ise arefe dîvânı adı ile bir dîvân kurulurdu. Pâdişâh hasoda kasrı meydanına konulan tahta oturup, burada bîrûn halkının yâni saray dışından gelenlerin tebriklerini kabul ederdi. Sonunda duâ çavuşu mûtad üzere duâ ederek çavuşlar âmîn derler ve duâdan sonra pâdişâh kalkarak arzodasına giderdi.
